Urban Transcendence is a continuous publication of the art and poetry of students of Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri. This program connects young people with caring mentors in creative and safe environments, thus encouraging emotional release, self-esteem and community awareness. Since its inception in 1997, Urban Transcendence has inspired a performance group, an bi-annual anthology publication and this on-line zine.
